大勢転換する時に現れるとされる価格推移のパターンで、3つの高値のうち中央が最も高く、左右が同程度の高さとなる場合を三尊天井、3つの底値のうち中央が最も深く、左右が同程度の深さとなるものを逆三尊底という。海外でもヘッド・アンド・ショルダーズ・トップ／ボトム（H&ST／H&SB）と呼んで注目される。ただし、日本では三尊天井が肩、腰、肩、腰、肩で構成されるのに対し、海外のものは期間、形状共にかなり寛容である。
