"Separation of fluoride complexed aluminium

A 20 ml sample was passed through the column followed by 5 ml of buffer solution. The column was eluted successively with solutions of 0.008 M and 0.08 M HCl. As in the previous separation, aluminium combined with humic acid was not bound onto the column. The amount of aluminium in this fraction was however slightly lower than before as ***aluminium humate*** partly decomposed when the sample pH was decreased to 3.0. As a result, the free aluminium concentration increased."
