कुल, योग, योगफल, जोड़, etc Explanation: Context is important here. You have indicated this question as a math question. So योग or योगफल is the term you are looking for. In very elementary maths, meant for small children जोड़ is also used - जोड़ना means 'to add' and घटाना means 'to subtract'. These simple terms are more familiar to small children. In higher classes, योग for addition and व्यवकलन for subtraction is used. The term योगफल is used for the result of addition, perhaps in line with the word गुणनफल for the result of multiplication. In economics, कुल is more common, although योग is also used. कुल राशि - total amount, for example. Or just कुल at the end of a list of figures to should their total. योग comes in various forms - सकल योग - net total, शुद्ध योग - gross total, महायोग - grand total, etc. So context is important. |
