civil partner, domestic pertner. see explanation Explanation: According to Wikipedia: Civil partnership is similar to mariage between same sex couples. Domestic partnership is a couplehood between people who ar neither maried nor civil partners (i.e. just living together). It is a British term based on a British act. In my opinion these are very specific legal terms and cannot be translated as yadu'a batzibur. They need to be explained via a footnote or somesuch. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day10 hrs (2013-01-17 14:11:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- As I said, there are no direct Hebrew translations so my recommendation is to translate literally as something like "ben zug ezrachi" and shutaf chayim" AND to ecplain the source in a footnote. More elegant yet less accurate: be brith zugiut and yadu'a betzibur. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_partnership Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_partnership |
