also means it can live on its own (if it is about a premature newborn) - without a life-support system - but go guess what they had in mind with that hype (best translation to HE פלצנות).

IMHO your idea of יציבה or אמינה is more appropriate.

I have a friend who works in the field and he told me tht viability in this respect means tht the program will be dependable and won't crash, which I believe is also covered by high performance. Based on that definition I would have translated יציבה or אמינה or both, but if Microsoft says יכולת קיום then יכולת קיום it is...

פלצנות sounds about right... If you think about it, in this context, high performance and viability are very close in meaning.
Viable = capable of working successfully;
High performance = that's an obvious one.

It's a description of an existing SW. I paraphrased it a little, it included many more adjectives and I tink the point was to have as many as possible, even if some of them overlap. What is known in our mother tongue as פלצנות...

First time that I hear that software has to be "viable". The entire sentence seems to be a vague, unmeasurable requirement (without metrics, its worthless - like asking for something to be beautiful).

Could it be they mean משתלמת?
If the SW must have high performance, then it is already viable, is it not?
Can you say what your text is referring to? i.e., is it a description of an existing SW, or a description of what a company requires for a new SW to be able to do/be?
