disagree  EGB Translations: Indeed u r right about the explanation. Nevertheless the defined word was Passion, not excite nor anything else.

-> Please read the question: Something people are really --excited-- for. This is the definition of hitlahavut. Passion means many different things, and terms don't exist in isolation, without context.

ייסורים

Explanation:
in context of art, paintings and bible it's "yisurim",
as in the Passion of Jesus - "yisurei Yeshu"
ייסורי ישו

disagree  Eynat: The question states: 'Something people are really excited for'. I can't see any relevance to Jesus or the Bible.

agree  AbuTomek: You're absolutely right! The category is ministry and if there is any doubt that people are excited: http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/2004/PASON.php !!

תשוקה - Tshuka

Explanation:
Tshuka is some thing people are really excited for. To desire.
Yet this is only one meaning for the word in Hebrew.
Also - Yisureem (Agony). Ta'Ava (Lust).

Re the explanation you add: Something people are really excited for, Indeed what remarked by Eynat is right, as the word EXCITE in hebrew is \"Hitlahavut\" (or in plural - MitLahavim) but it does not necessarily related with PASSION. Therefore the word I gave is absolutely correct.
You ar the one to judge what you are looking for.
Good Luck and happy holidays.

disagree  Eynat: As you say, tshuka is desire; it's not 'Something people are really --excited-- for'. I have thought again, thanks: how about looking up 'excited'?
