That was 60 yrs. ago. That's how 'they' dealt with the 'Term' and that's how they referred to it. Who am I to say how THEY should have called it. Except that I, for one, would disagree. But, then, who am I to disagree!! Ας πιασομε το βασο να παμε στην μαρκετα να καμουμε το σιοππινγ μας.

The decision not to translate these terms was taken more than 60 years ago, so we don't even have to justify it. Our role is perhaps to explain why they remained untranslated.

I understand that, Nick. But we have, I say, perfectly good equivalent words in Greek. An afterthought instead of 'Συνδεσμος/Οργανισμος' I had suggested, perhaps ΟΜΙΛΟΣ, would be a more fitting term. I thought we have, both in Greece and Cyprus,
ΘΕΑΤΡΙΚΟΥΣ ΟΜΙΛΟΥΣ= THEATRE GROUPS, unless THIS particular Group is considered so UNIQUE as to speak of it, UNIVERSALLY, by it's original name, in the same way as we would speak, say of our names. If 'hoi poloi' agree with the term to stay as is, then all well and good. It becomes established. If the original THEATRE GROUP were Greek I wonder how the English would have dealt with it. We know that the English and, especially the Americans, 'invent' words and expressions. I am sure the French would NOT accept the 'FRANKLISH', why should the Greeks accept the 'GREEKLISH'???

Δύο παρατηρήσεις: Το Actors Studio γράφεται χωρίς απόστροφο. Ωστόσο, δεν θεωρώ ιερόσυλο να μεταγραφούν. Ειδικότερα το Άκτορς Στούντιο εύκολα βλέπουμε στο Γκουγκλ ότι μεταγράφεται. Όπως άλλωστε και στην εγκυκλοπαίδεια: http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/3738/actorsstudio.jpg
