The context is this is in a word list test:

***If the patient repeats a word from the list which he has already said before, you need to find out whether he genuinely didn't remember he mentioned it before, or whether he used it as a way of self-cueing, i.e. "Let me see, I said 'tree' and 'house'... what else is there..."***

I understand what they mean thanks to the example, but I don't know if there is an specialist German term for this in psychology. The target audience are professionals in the field of psychology. Any ideas/suggestions would be most welcome!

Asker: Danke Birgit - ich habe auch ein paar solche Begriffe gefunden, vor allem für Cueing (wofür ich auch "Hinweisreiz" gesehen habe), aber es würde mich sehr interessieren, was Experten in diesem Bereich dazu meinen. Zur Zeit habe ich es als "eine Art des Self-Cueing" (im Zusammenhang mit meinem Beispielsatz) übersetzt, aber es wäre schon toll, wenn das jemand bestätigen könnte. Danke dir für deine Antwort! :-)
