Wer kann mir bei der Klärung des Begriffs "smoke printing" helfen?
Er kommt im Zusammenhang mit dem Erzeugen von Markierungen auf der Skalenscheibe eines Messinstruments vor, etwa als Alternative zum Gravieren oder anderen Verfahren.

Der magere Kontext lautet:
The first and second ranges of markings are printed or painted on an outer surface of the body portion. In the example shown, the first range of markings is applied via black and white printing, and the second range of markings is applied via ***smoke printing***. Asker: Hallo Rolf, danke herzlichst für Deine weiteren Bemühungen - ich habe die wörtliche Variante natürlich auch gesucht und denselben Link gefunden. Da es aber dort eher um künstlerische Grafik u.ä. geht, war mir das zu heikel. Ich habe den Begriff zur Klärung an den Kunden zurückgegeben. Viele Grüße!
