Explanation:
Ich würde hier etwas wie "auch noch" reinbringen, damit es klarer wird, dass sie nicht dafür bezahlt wird Unsinn zu reden, sondern sie bei dieser Veranstaltung eben Unsinn geredet hat und dafür auch noch als Rednerin bezahlt wird.

neutral  Cilian O'Tuama: Genau, she's not paid to talk nonsense, but is paid and/but then talks nonsense. Now how do we say that in German? :-) //On second thought (now neutral), maybe she WAS paid to deliberately talk rubbish? (I haven't read the articles so am not in the know.)

neutral  BrigitteHilgner: Es kommt natürlich darauf an, wo der Text erscheint - aber wenn ich "Mietmaul" lese, erwarte ich keinen seriösen Text mehr, sondern nur Polemik der Boulevardpresse. // Alles akzeptiert - ich finde den Begriff trotzdem abstoßend.

  -> Nein, der Begriff wird durchaus auch in der seriösen Presse verwendet - siehe angegebene Quellen. Außerdem passt der Vorschlag aus meiner Sicht, weil Olafs Text von einer gentechnikkritischen NGO stammt (ergibt sich aus seinen anderen Fragen).
