Reference: railroaded - definitions Reference information: This is a slightly different defintion from the one in your link. Railroaded - Describes the orientation of a pattern's direction. When looking at a railroaded pattern, the filling yarns are in the vertical direction, while the warp yarns are in the horizontal direction. Some industries and manufacturers prefer railroaded patterns, while others prefer up-the-roll patterns for their application. For example, a sofa upholsterer may prefer a railroaded pattern in order to avoid excessive seams and waste fabric. http://www.curtainfabricsonline.com/glossery2.php Some diagrams, also: http://www.easternaccents.com/documents/RRvsUTR.pdf I'm afraid I don't know the German term, but "railroaded" seems to be used quite often, e.g.: Railroaded, darum eignet es sich sehr für Kissen die breiter sind als 1.40 Meter, in z.B. Wohnmobil, Boot und größere Sofas. Kleinere Objekten sind natürlich auch kein Problem http://www.moebelstoffevorteil.eu/de/stoffe/de-opruiming/de-... |
