die Themeneinordnung passt vielleicht nicht so ganz, es ist eher ein allgemeiner Ausdruck.
Also, ich habe hier einen Text über Nahrungsmittelproduktion, in dem es u. a. auch um die Vor- und Nachteile von Zucht- vs. Wildfisch geht. Der Text spricht von Aquakulturen, in denen die Zuchtfische gehalten werden, von ihrer Ernährung usw. An dieser Stelle geht es um Krankheiten und Parasiten, die sich, da viele Fische auf engem Raum ("Meeres-Feedlots") leben, viel leichter ausbreiten können als normalerweise. Daher werden die Fische entsprechend geimpft und mit Antibiotika vollgestopft usw.
Es geht mir jetzt um das "as minnows". Ich hab zwar gesehen, dass minnows tatsächlich eine Fischart bezeichnet (das ergibt hier aber keinen Sinn) und übertragen auch "kleine Fische" oder "Anfänger" bedeuten kann. Das scheint mir aber hier nicht zu passen, ich glaube, es soll eher ausgedrückt werden, dass die Fische "wie verrückt" geimpft werden, also dass man sie sozusagen mit Impfstoffen vollpumpt, damit sie bloß nicht krank werden. Seid ihr da meiner Meinung oder wie sollte man das verstehen? Und wie sollte man es übersetzen? Geht das mit dem Vollpumpen?

Cilian doesn't approve of "jugentlich", but I think it can be used in the same way as "juvenile" in this sort of context, i.e. semi-official/technical wording. I don't really go for "Jungtiere" or "als klein", either. Let's see if anybody comes up with something better!

Habe als Übersetzung "Elritze" gefunden, welches Schwarmfische sind (siehe Wikipedia-Link); aber auch "kleine Fische" welche auch als Köder verwendet werden.
Weiss aber nicht, ob man wirklich über die Fische spricht, oder ob diese mit Antibiotika vollgestopft und als Köder gebraucht werden, um andere Fische indirekt zu impfen.
