I've been using "Injektionsbohrung" for "injection well" throughout this report, but there are times when the source text refers to them just as "wells." I'm concerned about consistency. It seems that "Bohrung" on its own just means hole or boring, whereas "Brunnen" seems like a better choice for well, but if I switch like that, would it be considered an inconsistency, or is that normal usage?

This is a report about bioaugmentation that will be submitted to a German environmental regulatory agency. Thanks in advance for your help.

Der Ausdruck "Verpressungsbrunnen" scheint auch gebräuchlich.
