Hurrian ist ein herkömmlicher Name für die Sprache des Hurrians, Leute, die Nordmesopotamia um 2300 BC betraten und meistens bis zum 1000 BC verschwunden waren.
Hurrian ist eine agglutinierende Sprache, die weder dem Semitic noch den indoeuropäischen Sprachenfamilien gehört. Zusammen mit Urartian enthält es die Hurro-Urartian Familie. Einige Gelehrte sehen Ähnlichkeiten zwischen Hurrian und den kaukasischen Nordostsprachen und legen sie folglich in die Alarodian Sprachenfamilie.

Einige Gelehrte, wie I. J. Gelb u. E. A. Speiser, glauben, daß das Hurrians Ankunftsverspätungen waren, die anpaßten oder durch einen Subarian Substratum angepaßt wurden, und die Bezeichnung "Hurrian Sprache" ansehen, wie anachronistic.

The adjective is 'hurritisch', also denotes the language. A person of that people is a 'Hurriter', pl. 'Hurriter'. (Just like Hethitisch/ Hethiter, Amoritisch/ Amoriter. These are the only forms used. You can find it in any book dealing with the Ancient Near East. Sometimes you find the forms with Ch-: 'Churriter' etc. Those form, however, went out of fashion about 100 years ago. I'll give you just one of the myriad of links you can find on with Google.
