English term or phrase: facility
Bonjour

-Once the government allows, the facility will reopen and healthy employees can return to work.
-During the facility closure, if you have no symptoms you may work remotely if your assignment permits and you have the tools to do so.
- etc.

Explanation:
Probably the most suitable term for this general context.
If you think of 'locaux' as really meaning 'premises', which in a literal sense means the physical place, you can see why I don't feel that is ideal here; whereas 'facility' = 'établissement' = the abstract notion of 'a place where something is done' is a much better fit.

Asker, as Ph_B's quote below shows, 'établissement' most definitely does encompass such a things as a production factory: 'unité de production'

In view of your problem of a clash with the EN word 'site', this would seem to neatly sidestep the whole issue.

-> Merci, Ph_B ! Yes, exactly... remains non-specific, while not excluding any possibilities, and has a similarly 'abstract' sense about it.
