Relenting

Homework / test English to French Social Sciences Architecture Architecture humanitaire
Bonjour à tous,
Je suis étudiante en traduction et je travaille sur un projet de fin d'année en traduction sur le thème de l'Architecture humanitaire. J'ai choisi un extrait d'un essai de Nikki Linsell pour la Conference: XXV World Congress of Architecture, à Durban appelé "Designing like you give a damn - about what exactly? Exploring the ethics of 'humanitarian' architecture", disponible au public sur internet.
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/280727245_Designing...'humanitarian'_architecture

Cet essai se penche sur l'éthique de l'action humanitaire et vient à définir cette dernière comme une nouvelle forme d'impérialisme. J'ai un problème avec le terme "relenting", j'ai trouvé cette définition : to act in a less severe way towards someone and allow something that you had refused to allow before.

Mais je ne comprends toujours pas ce que Mme Linsell a voulu dire dans ce paragraphe.

It [Charitable Sector] now has many names. And the terminology has changed, from top-down, we have bottom, or middle-up-down approaches, livelihood generation, climate change adaption, resilience and knowledge building programmes. The list and the terminology is relenting, becoming not just an industry in itself, but one with its own mystifying language of acronyms and self-referential redefined 'innovations' (Betts & Bloom 2013), in part thanks to its weaving of the perpetual criticism.

Auriez-vous une idée ?
Merci beaucoup pour votre aide !

strictly speaking it should be:

the expansion of the list and the terminology is unrelenting

judging from the context, what is meant here is "UNrelenting"

"has many names..
The list and the terminology is unrelenting,"

"relenting" contradicts the context

agree Daryo : makes perfect sense // a typo very easy to miss if the proof-reading is not done by someone else than the author ...
