English term

Jeff Conine

I heard Jeff Conine in English means Roger Rabbit is Flemish. This this correct?

konijn (of vergif!)

The Flemish word for rabbit is 'konijn'. The name 'conine' resembles it closely enough to make it originate from 'konijn', but there is another possibility. My Dutch/Flemish dictionary shows the word 'coniine' , which was a poison made from a herb....

co·ni·i·ne

I meant: resembles it closely enough to make it POSSIBLY originate from konijn.

agree labog : I can't answer your question for sure. Maybe more context is necessary. However, Jeff Conine is the real name of a Major League baseball player in America. i.e. it is not fictional, nor a cartoon character.

just Roger Rabbit

We call Roger Rabbit just Roger Rabbit... there is no translation. Same thing with Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse... they remain Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. And Jeff Conine is just Jeff Conine... even though 'Conine' and 'konijn' are pronounced somewhat the same.
