I am looking for how one would say "What's wrong?" in colloquial/slang Persian -- for example, if someone walked into a room and saw their friend crying.

Here is a use of "What's wrong?" from an episode of the American TV program Dateline NBC:

The news plunged Jason into despair. April said he seemed paralyzed with fear for his stepdaughters.

“At one point I had actually walked into the bedroom to see him curled in a ball on the bed, just crying. And I asked him, ‘What is going on? What is wrong?’ And he said, ‘I don't know.’ He said, ‘I'm scared.’”
