ghosten Definition from badoo: ghosting - to silently 'opt out' of a dating relationship / to suddenly / unexpectedly starting to act like a 'ghost' in a dating relationship Interestingly, it is a technology-induced phenomenon: if there was no internet, there was no 'ghosting'. It is very easy to hide, to 'ghost' these days. Onder ghosting wordt verstaan dat iemand ineens “van de aardbodem verdwijnt”. Stel je hebt een relatie met iemand en je gaat er zonder meer van uit dat jullie het leuk hebben samen. Op een dag stuur je je lief een berichtje via Whatsapp maar er komt geen reactie. Je ziet dat het bericht is gelezen maar antwoord komt er niet. Je denkt nog dat hij of zij misschien al slaapt of het druk heeft. Goedemorgen, lekker geslapen? De volgende morgen of een paar uur later stuur je opnieuw een bericht maar er komt opnieuw geen reactie. Nu begin je je ongerust te maken. Je belt je geliefde maar de oproep wordt niet beantwoord of weggedrukt. Wat je ook probeert, het lukt niet om contact te krijgen. Als je zeker weet dat er niet iets ernstigs zoals een ongeluk gebeurd kan zijn dan kan het zijn dat je het slachtoffer bent van ghosting. Example sentence(s):
