Vrij gangbare term die wijst op de menselijke neiging om bevestiging te zoeken voor wat we toch al geloven. "Hang naar bevestiging" is in deze context niet passend, teveel spiegeling van ego en te weinig van iemands wereldbeeld; "neiging tot..." is zeker een optie, maar is er al een standaardterm voor?

neutral  Cleartrans: Wordt inderdaad vaak niet vertaald, maar de Nederlandse term (vertekening) wordt ook veel gebruikt. // Nee hoor, is vrij frequent, voornamelijk in samenstellingen.

  -> daar kan ik niet echt een waardevol oordeel over vellen, maar ik vermoed dat verteking bijna altijd opduikt bij de uitleg van bias, en zelden als autonome term.

Asker: Hallo Christoph, met 'vertekening' kan ik wel iets, een goeie term voor 'bias' inderdaad. Mij klinkt het 'confirmatie' echter te anglicistisch - en wonderlijk genoeg dan ook weer te 'Frans/Vlaams' voor mijn tekst, dus gebruik ik 'bevestiging'. Dank je!
