The title of this contract is "appearance release", and in it the person appearing in the film etc. basically gives up all his/her rights, so that the owners of the film can show the recording of him/her on film and/or tape in any context, excerpt etc. etc. they want.
Would "afstandsverklaring" be an appropriate translation for this?

Als het om figuranten gaat - en dat zal haast wel want als acteur heb je sowieso een contract getekend waarmee je toestemming geeft voor allerlei vormen van publicatie/vertoning, etc. - dan heet zo'n verklaring in het jargon in het Nederlands een quitclaim of quitclaim figuratie. Spelling niet altijd even duidelijk, maar meestal aan elkaar geschreven.

Voorbeelden te over - heb er zelf ook al een aantal naar het Engels vertaald voor film- en videoproducenten van bedrijfsfilms.

Asker: Alvast bedankt voor je antwoord, Joep, maar ik ben er niet zeker van dat het hier om figuranten gaat, aangezien men in het contract noemt dat de persoon een "guest/participant" is. Dus ik denk dat het verder gaat dan figurant. Er wordt ook uitdrukkelijk gesproken over stemopnames die geciteerd kunnen worden, en figuranten praten meestal niet, of wel? Ik heb wat onderzoek op Google gedaan en zie dat in Nederland de Quitclaim ook gebruikt wordt voor publiek bij tv-opnames.
