Ik twijfel over de mooiste vertaling: nagemaakte Tudor, of nep-Tudor, of misschien 'in tudorstijl'? Wat vinden jullie?

Dan lijkt "neo-Tudor" me als vertaling meer op zijn plaats; het is immers een stijl op zichzelf, en geen nep/namaak/imitatie, ook al staan deze landhuizen en bungalows dan in Maleisië...

Ik denk dat dit het juiste antwoord is. De context is niet zodanig dat de minieme verschillen tussen de twee termen relevant zijn, dus het wordt neo-Tudor.

disagree  Saskia Steur (X): Nee, daar ben ik er vakinhoudelijk niet mee eens een neo-stijl is iets anders dan een imitatiestijl, denk aan neogotiek, dan zou er in het EN ook neo tudor hebben gestaan

  -> ja, maar het IS geen imitatie-stijl - zie de wikipedialinks. Tudor is een stijl uit de 16e eeuw en Mock Tudor is de benaming van een stijl uit de 19e eeuw - als dat geen neo mag heten ;-)

Beste allemaal,
Ik vind dat Ron een punt heeft, maar hoeveel belang moeten we hechten aan het feit dat in Hester's vraag "mock" niet met hoofdletter wordt geschreven?
Wat het streepje betreft ben ik het uiteraard met jullie eens.
Vic's antwoord is zeer creatief en vind ik mooi, de vraag is of het niet met een kleine "t" moet geschreven worden?
