Pošto se uvođenjem ovog standarda onemogućava protok podataka prema uređajima koji ne funkcioniraju po ovom stadardu, uvedeni su tzv. i "pomiješani" načini rada u kojima je moguć prenos i prema ostalim uređajima, mada ponekad tek uz dodatke. Ipak, za postizanje najveće brzine rada, preporučuje se upotrijeba "čistog" ili nepomiješanog načina rada po novom standardu. Ovakav način rada obezbijeđuje i "čist", neomijetan prenos, bez preklapanja sa ostalim frekvencijama. "IEEE 802.11n-2009 ...
