Concerning my latest question about "anili": it might be of interest to specify that "anili" from the quotation cited - Levtzion (ed.) and J.R.P. Hopkins (trans. and ed.). Corpus of Early Arabic Sources for West African History, Cambridge University press, Cambridge, 1981, p. 282 (page was mistaken in the original) - is SORGHUM.
