The closest Arabic equivalent to the deragatory term "nimrod" (in the sense of "fool," "buffoon") is حمار (literally "donkey" as in the English "jackass"). It's pronounced Himaar, with the initial "H" being heavily aspirated (pretend you're trying to fog up a mirror).

This term is used colloquially in most Arabic-speaking countries, but it is Standard Arabic.

Explanation:
See my note above. This term is similar to "schmuck", which is widely used by lots of people unaware of its original meaning ("penis", in Yiddish). You can (probably) say "nimrod" without being offensive; its not necessarily a dirty word (unlike "dick"). It was in fairly common use when I was a kid (20+ years ago). I'm afraid my colloquial Arabic isn't good enough to come up with a word; I'm sure fusha terms like " زبر " or " قضيب " are too coarse or literal.
