  -> Thanks Kate, but a property search is what Textpertise describes below - the terminology is a bit confusing.
neutral  Textpertise: A search request is quite a specific term in the UK and means a request to search the property register and confirm ownership. It is done by a solicitor, not an estate agent. You would therefore need to avoid that term and use the one suggeted by Kate.

Explanation:
Hmmz... well... this one will give us a mixed bag, because the "zoekopdracht" itself is the task that the real estate agents are being given perform (i.e. the task of finding a suitable property). There is no single answer for this. Could be a search query, search request, search assignment if you're looking for a noun... any noun... that might be comparable. But the sentence you gave will morph "zoekopdracht" into something quite different.

You could do this literally, in which case you have:

"een makkelaar de opdracht geven om ... te zoeken" ==>

1) "give a real estate agent the assignment to find..."
2) "give a real estate agent the task of finding..."

Put in smoother terms, however, I would prefer:

3) "engage (the services of) a real estate agent to find ..."
4) "hire a real estate agent to find ..."
5) "enlist a real estate agent to find ..."
6) "instruct a real estate agent to find..."
