optical welding Explanation: Two types of optical welding exist, to my knowledge: Electron-beam welding (http://tristate.apogee.net/et/eftjebw.asp) (also called electro-optical welding) and Laser-beam Welding (http://tristate.apogee.net/et/eftjlbw.asp) Note that the term "optical welding" is used however mainly when referring to both these types of welding. In your particular case, as it mentions gas tubes, it probably refers to laser welding.
