photographic grading scale/photographic likert scale Explanation: In the context in which it seems to be used, a beeldmeetlat seems to be a series of photographs or images used to help grade the quality, or the perception of the quality of a certain public provision, e.g. the cleanliness of pavements, how well open spaces are cared for, etc. See https://www.crow.nl/publicaties/kwaliteitscatalogus-openbare... The problem is: What is the equivalent expression in English? The answer is not so straightforward because pictures do not appear to be widely used on grading scales of this type (called likert scales). The nearest approximate term I can find is a graphic grading scale. Albeit in a medical context, see, for example: https://www.canfieldsci.com/clinical-services/graphic-servic... Where the severity of acne is graded using such a scale of images. Another example of a graphic illustrating a grading scale can be found at https://mrsvaughnwhes.weebly.com/standards-based-grading.htm... where a series of photographs showing a double decker hamburger being built up is used to indicate how well a student has mastered a subject (which has nothing to do with hamburgers). The use that CROW makes of photographs in its grading scales would appear to be quite innovative and my answer is an attempt to coin an English equivalent. When you don't have an existing term, you need to devise something that conveys what is meant. |
