Dutch term or phrase: groene sector
"Green" heeft teveel associaties met 'milieu-vriendelijk'. Daar wordt in deze tekst niet aan gerefereerd. Het verwijst naar een sector met daarin bedrijven die actief zijn met kweken, groeien, onderhoud van planten, bomen, bloemen, fruit, gewassen en dergelijke. Ik kan het even niet anders op een bondige manier omschrijven.

Een paar voorbeeldzinnen:
Bedrijf X is een bedrijf dat zich bezighoudt met automatisering van de **groene sector**.
**Groene sector** refereert hier o.a. aan de fruitteelt, tuinbouw, akkerbouw en de communale sector (=groenvoorziening en -onderhoud door gemeente en overheid).

Mijn voorstel op dit moment is "the agricultural and horticultural sectors", maar dat lijkt te beperkt. De communale tak lijkt hier buiten te staan.

Heeft er iemand een betere suggestie, weet iemand van een overkoepelende term die in het Engels gebruikt wordt?

Sorry, Roy, maar de punten komen aan Michael toe vanwege de vele referenties. Toch jij en de rest ook hartelijk dank voor de bijdrage. N.a.v. de op- en aanmerkingen toch besloten voor 'green sector'. De term moet wel in een duidelijke context staan, anders is het niet acceptabel voor mij, omdat dan de betekenis van 'sustainable' naar boven komt.

Explanation:
Although not a nice neat term, I think this is the best option for describing the term when used in the context explained above.

I think the main point here is to avoid "green" sector, since that usually refers to the environmental movement, green (i.e. environmentally friendly) technology and perhaps organic farming (although I have never seen green used in that way) but none of those are relevant in this context. Thus I used the word landscaping, which covers a lot of different acvtivities involving vegetation.
