neutral  Kitty Brussaard: Strictly speaking you're 100% right but I don't think this literal translation would make much sense here. Using 'namens' or 'in opdracht van' seems more logical, i.e. the author probably mixed up 'in hoofde van' with 'uit/in naam van'.
