Thermally treated Lead MonoSilicate (heated up above 750°C) Explanation: Lead MonoSilicate is an eutectic mixture of Lead Ortho-silicate and Lead Metasilicate with a chemical composition of 85% Litharge (PbO) and 15% Silica. This mixture is heated up above 750°C in order to expel molecular water. frit/fritted Explanation: The word frit is used both as a noun and as a verb. According to the Oxford Compendium, it means a calcined mixture of sand and fluxes as material for glass-making or a vitreous composition from which soft porcelain, enamel etc. are made. As a transitive verb, it means to make into frit, partially fuse. The dictionary gives the derivation as from Italian fritta, feminine past participle of friggere, to fry.
