I asked this question actually for the language combination Dutch-Germn, but nobody is answering. Maybe someone knows how to explain in English- I am translating a bachelor degree from Dutch and one of the examnes are called:
Participerende Major Afstuderen
Participerende Major Stage

What does the 'participerende' mean? Thank you!

agree  Jack den Haan: I'm not quite sure either, but I think it involves doing your major at another univeristy than your own. That other university participates in an educational agreement with the student's "own" university. Do indeed post it as an answer, Lianne!

agree  Tina Vonhof (X): I looked at some of the subjects listed and it appears that this refers to students who are doing a major in the context of an international program that has certain requirements of its own. The term 'participerend' remains strange though.

agree  Jonathan Tavill (X): I agree. Looking at the link it would seem that the participating major is a complimentary study which combines well with the students major study. For example Engineering and a participating major Economics. This is all part of a foreign study program.
