Architecture / Part of theatre structure

The word occurs in a Flemish text containing the construction specifications for a theatre. Could this be referring to the area in front of the stage or the stage opening that is called the 'proscenium arch'?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Proscenium arch
Explanation:
I've worked in theatre for 15 years and the 'pros' is the opening of the stage facing the audience. Sur- or subtitling is projected or displayed above or under this.
