utterance, statement Explanation: I think I'd use 'utterance' or 'statement' here, with a preference for 'utterance'. Try googling 'advertising utterance'! |

communication Explanation: In zin 4) zou ik communications gebruiken voor 'communicatie-uiting': The medication was not referred to in any of the communication o.i.d. Expression wouldn't quite fit in either sentence. In 1) you might use 'phrasing': Phrasing is promotional when it contains information.... Or also 'communication' This is a text (with legal context) where you have to be comprehensive about your glossary. Research it, decide on it, and stick with it. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 mins (2010-08-20 16:07:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Correction: uiting = communication In sentence it would be plural: in any of the communications |

expression Explanation: As per your own suggestion. Under normal circumstances I would prefer the dictionary translation (Van Dale), 'utterance', but that would then be limited to vocal expression, whereas this ruling seems to include any form of disclosure, i.e. visual, audio and/or print. I think expression is the best fit here, as can be seen in this dictionary entry for expression: the act of expressing or setting forth in words: the free expression of political opinions. dictionary.com |

message Explanation: This is a fairly common term, not just in advertising but generally when information is imparted to the public. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2010-08-20 18:19:01 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- For example messages about the hazards of smoking, the dangers of high blood pressure, etc. Reference: http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/advertising-mes...
