oil Explanation: brine is a "lage" based on salt and water, and a lage can also be based on vinegar (pickled). When you have tuna in an "olielage" it is just in oil (as marked on the cans "Tuna in oil") |

a layer of oil Explanation: In the old days much food was preserved a layer of clarified butter on top . I therefore find it likely that the same process can be done with oil. Example sentence(s):
