I have just phoned Lloyds Bank and they say that Cash Machines, Cash Point and ATM are all the same thing. The person who I spoke to thought that 'Cash Point' may be a registred trade mark of Lloyds and recommended 'Cash Machine, though people do use 'Cash Point' when they are referring to all UK based banks. ATM may be referred to in the press on occasions.
