Vil det være muligt at opnå en adskillelse mellem objekter og værktøj, således de ikke har et unaturligt afhængighedsforhold?

Would 'inter-dependence' be appropriate here?

Strictly speaking, afhængighedsforhold is a one way relationship of dependency. Gensidig afhængighed is mutual dependency or inter-dependence. Not the same thing. But Dana could be right that inter-dependence is what is meant here, though I doubt it because it is more likely that the object is dependent on having the right tool than vice versa, since a tool on its own is not much use to anyone.
