if this is colloquial - as native Danes claimed on the same web ref. query - then I'm surprised it keeps coming up in business texts.

Saddled with does not show up in Vinterberg & Bodelsen DAN/ENG, but is an entry in Einar Haugen NOR/ENG.

I've also come across this speculative scenario in DE.
