Dear colleagues,
here I am again with yet another colourful expression, that of "smavá životní pohoda". I think that you all know me by now :o) and are familiar with the texts that I am currently translating (if not please see my last posts).
The expression is taken from the following sentence:

"V roce 1956 pak podle Svitáka přišel čas překonat období, kdy „živé problémy rozporů socialistické společnosti byly odčarovány se světa“ a „úředně existovala jen smavá životní pohoda“."

Asker: Dear Martin, I was ever so pleased to see your comment: "Panebože, to je text - za ten bych si účtoval nejmíň dvojnásobek..." :o) You are right. This is a second article of this kind that I am translating. Working part-time, studying MA in Translation and on the top of all this there is the translation of these two beautiful yet very very challenging articles. The translation job has been facilitated through my university and the remuneration is only very symbolic (something around 100 Euros for each translation) :o)
