Explanation:
These centres are not primarily for those who have committed crimes - they are for the detention of failed asylum-seekers or illegal immigrants awaiting deportation. Foreign national criminals are accommodated within the general prison population and have no separate facilities.

  -> Thanks - in the name of political correctness in the UK at least the 'detention' has been replaced by 'removal', but 'detention' is still used in Australia
