English translation:guiding element
Explanation:
in the context of mechanical engineering, "vodič" would be a "guiding element" - guiding the movement of some mobile part of the machinery or the movement of the work piece, or the movement of bottles in a bottling line or the movement of parcels in a sorting machine etc ...

THAT kind of "vodič" would require "elastične podloške" and would be assembled using "vijci M12 i M16 + matice" (i.e. screws of of 12 and 16 mm in diameter!)

disagree  Daryo: sa vijcima M12 i M16 i elastičnim podloškama ?? what would be the size of the cable??? + context "Mechanics / Mech Engineering"

agree  Larisa Zlatic, Ph.D.: I would just say 'guide'

-> I added "elements" because if you are going to do some "connecting" then you would be connecting "pieces / elements / parts etc". Thanks!

// Bravo, ipak ste izgurali svoj 100% pogrešan prevod!;-)

-> There is a limit as to how much errors are to be assumed - confusing "mechanical engineering" with some electrical installation with extremely thick electrical cables is unlikely, and anyway Asker has the whole text available and can see what makes sense.

neutral  Daryo: it could be both, but "GUIDING ELEMENT" fits better in the given [limited] context AND Asker has the whole of the ST available and can decide what makes more sense // so in fact " 100% pogrešan prevod" is just your opinion / assumption

-> Ponavljam, HR: vodič (SR: provodnik) > EN: conductor, a HR: vodilica (SR: vođica) > EN: guidinig element, guide. U tome je problem, prevod se traži za „vodič“, a to nikako nije isto što i „vodilica“ (ni u mech. ni u el. kontekstu). PS:Errare humanum est!
