’mixed wood‘ is the literal translation of 杂木,I use 'soft wood' to contrast with 硬木 (hard wood). But if 'mixed wood' is the industry standard, then it should be used.

I've seen this term (I used to work in the industry), and I seem to recall that the way we used it was "assorted logs, mixed logs".
