This saturated dicarboxylic acid exists as a white powder. It is found in wheat, rye, and barley. It is a precursor to diverse industrial products including polymers, plasticizers, as well as being a component of a number of hair and skin conditioners Azelaic acid is used to treat mild to moderate acne, both comedonal acne and inflammatory acne. It belongs to a class of medication called dicarboxylic acids. It works by killing acne bacteria that infect skin pores. It also decreases the production of keratin, which is a natural substance that promotes the growth of acne bacteria.Azelaic acid is also used as a topical gel treatment for rosacea, due to its ability to reduce inflammation. It clears the bumps and swelling caused by Rosacea. Brand names for azelaic acid include Azepur99 (Azelaic Products), Azetec99 (Azeco Technologies USA), Azaclear (azelaic acid and niacinamide, Epikintics), AzClear Action (Ego Pharmaceuticals), Azelex (Allergan), White Action cream (SynCare), Finacea (Intendis/Berlex Laboratories), Finevin (Intendis/Berlex Laboratories), Melazepam (Strata Dermatologics), Skinoren (Intendis), Ezanic (Intas), and Azaderm (MUP) . Moderate to severe acne Sometimes acne needs treatment with stronger medicines or a combination of therapies. Deeper blemishes, such as nodules and cysts, are more likely to leave scars. As a result, your doctor may give you oral antibiotics sooner to start the healing process. This kind of acne may need a combination of several therapies. Treatment for moderate to severe acne may include: Applying benzoyl peroxide. Draining of large pimples and cysts by a doctor. Applying prescription antibiotic gels, creams, or lotions. Applying prescription retinoids. Applying azelaic acid. Taking prescription oral antibiotics. N,N’-azelaoyl diaminoacid ethyl ester Explanation: 壬二酸二氨基酸乙酯 actually means 壬二酰基二氨基酸乙酯. I would use N,N’-azelaoyl diaminoacid ethyl ester for 壬二酸二氨基酸乙酯. You may not be able to find this English name in academic papers because it refers to a family of similar chemicals, but this name is in accordance with nomenclature rules. Meanwhile, N,N’-azelaic acid diaminoacid ethyl ester may also be acceptable. Please take a look at this picture: http://patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/CN102388017B/CN10... This picture is from paragraph [0044] of this patent (一种壬二酸的氨基酸衍生物的合成方法 ): http://www.google.com/patents/CN102388017B?cl=zh The formula in this picture depicts N,N’-azelaoyl diaminoacetic acid ethyl ester (壬二酰基二氨基乙酸乙酯). “N,N’-” is used to make it clear that the azelaoyl group is connected with the two amono group (-NH2-) at both ends.
