Catalan term or phrase: el meu espirit hi projectava
Dins d’aquell laberint, el meu esperit hi projectava la més gran part de la Girona monumental.

I'm not completely sure what's being projected onto what here. At first I thought it meant that 'the greatest part of Girona was projected onto my spirit' but then this seemed to be the wrong way round! Is it more likely to be the spirit that is projecting 'the greatest part of monumental Girona into that labyrinth'?

I think what threw me was the 'hi' as I'm not sure what/where it refers to here.

Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

I think you're instincts are good. The idea is that "my" spirit projects (in the psychological sense) the monumental nature of Girona onto the labrynth.
