"...oferint nous elements per a entendre malalties com el càncer i treballar sobre possibles estratègies terapèutiques."

I can't make the whole phrase work if I translate this "new elements" because it doesn't seem to go with "to work on..."

Can anyone suggest a way to make this flow better?
