Here is my context:

Hi ha un article de l’Ignacio Paricio on parlava dels avenços de tecnològics que començaven proposats per l’avantguarda i s'acabaven convertint en modes. Per exemple, Quan Le Corbusier posava finestres corregudes endarreria l'estructura per a que poguessin ser continues. Encara avui ens trobem molts edificis amb l'estructura al pla de façana que posen una xapeta que dóna aparença de finestra horitzontal. No cal ser maliciosos dient que tothom segueix una moda. Però és una cosa que està a l'aire i molts de nosaltres ho fem.

I found this as a synonym for aixadell, 'weeding hoe,' and it is clearly not that!
