Catalan term or phrase: "arcs peraltats i en degradació"
I know what the arches look like (they are typical of portals), but i cannot find any reference to the term "en degradació" either on the internet or in bilingual (CAT>EN and ES>EN) dictionaries that I have on architecture. There must be a specific term to describe this, set of arches within arches or successively smaller arches nested inside other arches, but I cannot find it.

Well, we should take a look to the context, but yes, a (decreasing/increasing) succession is also correct.

I think that the answer gives part of the idea, but not the bit that I really needed (successively smaller arches within arches). This was, however, the only suggestion submitted.
Thanks,
Malcolm

Notes to answerer
Asker: Ian, Thanks for the suggestion, but I do not think that they are physically degraded, the impression I have is that "en degradació" refers to "successively smaller", although you may be correct. How sure are you?
