I also feel it sounds weird, and could find no similar use of the term on the net, but since the following term "pushing out" explains why marketing is being compared to a leaf blower, I thought the sentence could nevertheless be understood in Arabic. Alternatively you could use something with the same effect such as "الرياح العنيفة" or "القوة الدافعة", which would be less alien in the context of the Arabic sentence.
