Windows 8.1 on Lenovo P500 laptop screen went dim

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad P500 and the brightness of the screen just went dim. I have tried making adjustments on the hot keys, inside the device manager, Control Panel, rolling back to the previous driver but nothing works....not even a previous restore point does anything...

Can anyone help?

connected to power? Apr 10, 2014

A laptop usually goes dim when disconnected with power to save battery by default, if yours is still dim with power cable connected, it's very possible to be a hardware problem.
