I think you should not go too far and start doubting everything. After all our whole profile is just what we put there, most of it uncorroborated.
I assume that the majority of people who participate in the WIWO feature are not doing that with questionable intentions. They probably think it's fun and they like to see what others are working on - it may give them an idea of what's out there in terms of work. They probably think it's fun and they like to see what others are working on - it may give them an idea of what's out there in terms of work. Try to keep in mind that different people have different ways of looking at things. I only object to having it appear at the top of the home page as if it is an important feature of the website. Even though I can hide it, it may still visible at the top to visitors (non-members) to the website and I think that gives the wrong impression of what proz.com is about (or what we would like it to be about).
